Here is all the information you need about our Fall Conference...

The Ability Challenge (ABC) is pleased to invite you to participate in our Fall Conference on November 2, 2018. 

This working session will bring together experts and stakeholders from different areas of the education world to begin defining a new way to measure improvement within special education. 

Participants will:

  • Learn more about ABC's work to date, including an examination of the problem experienced and the proposed solution;

  • Develop a shared understanding of and help refine the framework that will guide ABC's work; and

  • Begin to draft metrics to support ABC's framework.

Registration will close on October 9, 2018, so be sure to reserve your spot early.  We look forward to collaborating with you!

CONFERENCE LOCATION

Our conference will be taking place at the Dupont Circle Hotel located centrally in Washington, DC's Dupont Circle. Out of town guests will be provided with lodging accommodations for Thursday (11/1) and/or Friday nights (11/2) depending on availability. Breakfast, lunch and coffee/beverages will be served during the conference on Friday. ABC will arrange hotel accommodations for guests, so please be sure to include all relevant information in your RSVP form (below).

TRAVEL & LOGISTICS

While we are making hotel accommodations for all guests, each participant is responsible for making their own travel arrangements and The Ability Challenge will reimburse you for costs of travel (including airfare, train, subway, parking) up to $500. If you believe your costs will exceed that amount and the additional costs are prohibitive to your attendance, please let us know in the general comments when you RSVP.

Please save all receipts. A reimbursement form will be distributed at the conference.

Who will be there?

We have a diverse set of leading experts and other stakeholders from both general education and special education backgrounds planning to join us in November.  As we realize this is a great time to network, there will be time build into the conference agenda for collaboration.  

Can I bring a colleague?

While this event is invite-only, we want to ensure that varied perspectives are at the table.  If we have space, we welcome others.  Please include your request on the RSVP form (below) and we will be in touch with more information.

What time will the conference begin and end?

The day will begin with breakfast at 8:30 am and the session will start promptly at 9:30 am.  We'll go all morning, ending at 12:30 with an open lunch and time for networking. 

What should I wear?

The conference will be a working session, so we encourage you to come ready to work!  To us, this means a business casual that leans to the more casual side of things.
